On my nineteenth birthday, I wanted to keep the festivities low-key. However, I would never pass up an opportunity to dress up, and wear something special. I knew I wanted to wear an outfit unlike anything I've worn going out. I went looking around for something new, but didn't want to spend a lot on something I knew I wouldn't wear a lot in the future.
I hit up a local boutique called Alice+Wonder, and was helped by the sweetest and most generous saleswomen. I tried on a lot of skirts I had spotted at the store, and was gifted by their input. Then they remembered this champaign velvet skirt in my size that was in the back of the store, and it was perfect for the occasion! One of the last in the store, this BB Dakota wrap skirt (linked similar) was half off of the original price. I was so happy I didn't have to splurge on the perfect piece that would make me feel extra special on my birthday.
I styled this skirt with my Aritzia ruffle bodysuit and black tights. Along with a faux fur Pull and Bear comfy jacket, booties I found on amazon, a Sophie choker from Frasier jewelry and my inexpensive designer looking NastyGal purse. On my birthday, after finishing class, I got my haircut and styled for the night. The night was great, and I felt ULTRA FAB in my birthday look...
